Leaving and privacy
The way out is in every message
Regulars trust a club they can leave in one press. Every campaign carries the member's own opt-out link, a STOP reply to your Hearth number works, and the bakery never gets a form to add someone by hand. Members who leave keep their stamps.
The opt-out link
Every member gets a link of their own in each message. It opens a page naming your bakery with one button, Stop messages. Simply opening it does nothing until the button is pressed. The page then confirms that your bakery will send no more messages and that stamps and rewards are kept.
Replying STOP
On Hearth your texts come from your own number, so a reply comes back to us. A reply that begins with "STOP", "unsubscribe", "opt out", "no", "cancel", "end" or "quit" opts that number out of your bakery's messages, and nobody else's.
What you see
On Members, their row now carries an opted-out mark. They stay in the list, collect stamps and earn rewards as before. Stopping once stops both email and texts. You cannot reverse it from the dashboard, and rejoining from the QR does not reverse it either, because the same mobile returns the same record. If a regular wants messages again, they ask you and you email us.
What never happens
No owner adds a member. A number that never confirmed a code is never texted. No bakery sees or messages another bakery's members. Member details are never sold or shared for marketing.
- No hand-added members
- No texts to unconfirmed numbers
- No contact across bakeries
- No sale of member details
Where it is kept
Daily Loaf is hosted by Vercel in Sydney, and its database sits with Supabase in Sydney, backed up daily. Vonage carries the texts and supplies the numbers, Postmark carries the email, and either one may pass a message through another country on its way. The privacy page has the full account.
Questions about the leaving and privacy
Does opting out remove the member?
No. It stops messages only. Their stamps, codes and record stay, so a regular who went quiet can still finish a card. To be removed entirely, they ask you or email us.
If someone stops texts, will they still get email?
No. One opt-out stops every message from your bakery, by email and by text.
Can I send one last message to someone who opted out?
No. Every send skips opted-out members, and there is no way around it.
Stand the QR by the bread rack this week
Writing the card takes a couple of minutes. The first fifty members cost no money, only a marketing consent, and the card works in full from the first morning.
