Marketing consent

The box at sign-up

Free on Daily Loaf is provided in return for a marketing consent. At sign-up, and again if a lapsed account comes back to Free, you see an unticked box with this sentence next to it, word for word:

I agree to receive marketing from Bakebound and its partners about business growth and advertising services, by email and phone. Unsubscribe any time.

"Its partners" in that sentence is a link to the partners page, where each one is named. Free needs the box ticked. Crumb and Hearth do not show it and carry no marketing consent.

What you are agreeing to

Bakebound and the partners named on the partners page may contact you, the bakery owner, by email and by phone, including recorded or automated voice calls, about services that help a business grow or advertise. We do not send marketing by text. It applies to you in your capacity as a business contact. It never covers your members, whose details are not used for it.

The record we keep

The exact sentence you saw and its version number, the time, your IP address and browser, and how the consent was given: at sign-up, when a lapsed account came back to Free, or from the Account page after a withdrawal. We keep it so we can show what was agreed and when.

Withdrawing

Any one of these works:

  • Press Withdraw marketing consent on the Account page.
  • Follow the unsubscribe link at the foot of any marketing email.
  • Reply "stop" to a marketing email.
  • Say "stop" during a call.
  • Email hello@bakebound.com.au from the address on your account.

The withdrawal is recorded as it happens and passed to the partners, who stop. If a partner cannot be told straight away, we keep trying until it confirms the stop.

If you withdraw while on Free

Since the consent is the only price of Free, withdrawing it changes the plan. Withdraw while on Free and the marketing stops at once, while the plan runs until the current Melbourne month ends. To keep going after that, choose Crumb or Hearth from Pricing, or tick the consent again on Account; every member and stamp is kept either way. If you do neither, Free closes when the month does. Crumb and Hearth are untouched by a withdrawal, because they never carried the consent.

A member's consent is the code they confirmed on your join page and, for email, the link they pressed. It belongs to them, covers your bakery only, and is withdrawn with their opt-out link or a STOP reply. Nothing on this page affects it.
