About

Daily Loaf is made by the Bakebound team

Bakebound is a directory of Australian bakeries, patisseries and cake shops, ranked by how many Google reviews each one has. Daily Loaf is the software we make for the bakeries in it: a stamp card that replaces the paper one, and a way to tell regulars about the next bake without pestering them.

Why a stamp card

A paper loyalty card is a familiar sight on a bakery counter, and so is the drawer of half-stamped ones beside the register. Bread and pastry are bought often and by habit, which is exactly what a stamp card rewards. The paper was the weak part, so we took it away.

What we chose not to build

No tiers, no customer app, no uploaded lists, no send-later, no messages that go out by themselves, and no cake ordering. Each is something a busy bakery asks for once and then spends Sunday nights managing. A card, a join page with a code, and one message to the club is enough for a bakery counter.

The directory and the card stay apart

Nothing on Bakebound comes with Daily Loaf: no listing for sale, no higher rank, no badge and no claimed profile. The directory ranks bakeries by their number of Google reviews, with the rating settling ties, and nobody can pay to move up. Using Daily Loaf has no effect on that.

We are a few people in Melbourne working under an Australian sole-trader ABN, and we will give you the number if you ask. Email reaches us directly, and a person replies inside one business day, Melbourne time. This site names no individuals.

Who is behind it

Daily Loaf is made and run by the Bakebound team in Australia. There is no sales team, no reseller and no one else between you and the people who built it.
